About Me
My Story
Ever since I was six years old, I was directing and studying movies. I still love watching any behind-the-scenes videos I can get my hands on, because I enjoy tearing apart stories and finding out why they work or don’t work. I produce and direct short films, but I’ve always been limited to what stories I can tell through film. That’s when I realized I’m not limited in a novel. So around 2016, I brainstormed ideas for my first urban fantasy superhero novel. Being a true perfectionist, it was extremely difficult to shove my inner critic in a closet to let my creative side roam free. It took FIVE years of researching, outlining, procrastinating, and kicking my fear of failure to the curb, before I dug in and wrote the rough draft. I did it with the support of my husband, family and friends, and God.
Now I am trying to navigate the vast and at-times overwhelming aspects of editing and marketing a novel. My dream of becoming a published author came true and I released my debut fantasy/sci-fi superhero epic, Superiors, in May 2024. And I’m just getting started! I want to use my author platform to put depth into speculative fiction and action-packed stories. I want to provide books to teens and adults who crave entertaining, gritty speculative fiction while avoiding the sex, swearing and other junk the world shoves into stories these days. I aim to glorify God in my stories, but will never drown out the story with biblical themes. It will enhanced it, because truth matters, and it deserves to be in fiction, not only the Bible.
Personal Life
Even though writing is a passion of mine, my heart and devotion first go to my two children and supportive husband. Without them and God in my life, I have no true purpose. Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior, and I strive to create stories that glorify Him.
I love watching and reading anything that has action and adventure. On a beautiful day, you’ll find me at the beach, playing volleyball, reading or singing around a campfire, and gardening with my kids. Things I love to do inside would be playing videogames, hanging and playing board games with family and friends, playing DnD (and painting minifigures for said DnD), homschooling my kiddos, and reading lots of books.
